11th September 2015

The National Entrepreneurship Network (NEN) organized a workshop on ‘Identify And Generate Winning Ideas’ on 11th September 2015 at Birla Institute of Management Technology, Greater Noida. Ten students from CSE & ECE Department namely Anurag Vats(16029), Birender Singh Rawat(16043), Brijesh Aggarwal(16044), Dishant Passi(16056), Nitin Dagar (16106) and Nitin Yadav(16107), Ashish(16200), Himanshu Shah(16220), Govind Raj(16212) and Devesh(16205) on behalf of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon attended the workshop.

The objective behind the workshop was to inspire, educate and support the students to generate quality ideas that are helpful for them to be an entrepreneur. The workshop also helped students by guiding them in the right direction to bring their ideas closer to entrepreneurial potential. NEN builds institutional capacity for entrepreneur support and a robust entrepreneurial eco-system and was co-founded with IIT Bombay, IIM Ahmedabad, along with some other prominent institutions.

The guest speaker of the workshop was Ms. Deepanjali Rao, Entrepreneur & founder of the DeePositive Foundation.

Ms. Rao in her address to the students said that to succeed in life one has to keep working and therefore if an attempt fails it is basically a part of winning, which must not be the reason to give up. She said that with the advent of new technologies and through the World Wide Web, the world has become a small place to live in, and boundaries are political than physical. Hence, development taking place in one country of the world seldom fails to have an effect in another. She focused on a wide variety of topics and inspired the students to aim at building a broader understanding of new forms of innovation and analyzing the key challenges posed to entrepreneurs. She focused on some of the critical issues faced by entrepreneurs like Business-plan writing and funding one’s own venture. Other technical and non-technical areas like Risk Management, Financial Analysis, opportunities of innovation and entrepreneurship available in certain sectors, were also discussed in the workshop.

The students were encouraged and motivated to pursue their entrepreneurial dreams. It gave them a clear insight of what all it requires to be an Entrepreneur and got the directions to channelize their efforts to achieve the goals.
