E - Week Celebration

14th - 21st February 2015

 
 

The Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon celebrated E-Week 2015 from 14th - 21st February 2015 to promote Entrepreneurship skills amongst students.

On 20th February 2015 the day’s event started off in the presence of revered Principal, Prof. (Dr.) B M K Prasad and delectable HOD’s at Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon. Ms. Pratibha Sharma, Assistant Professor, Computer Science Department briefed about National Entrepreneurship Network (NEN) and discussed the E - Week objectives.

The students were given a Self - Rating Questionnaire Test to check their ability to complete an assigned job or task and also tested their Entrepreneurial skills. All the participating students appeared for the test and obtained a fair score. The test was conducted with 3 students in a group to check their Intra Group Dynamic Communication. Idea Generation exercise was conducted by E - Leader Anurag Vats (16029). Students were divided in groups of 3 and were given 15 minutes for creating feasible and practical ideas on entrepreneurial projects. The event was followed by the Thematic Apperception Test (TAT), in which the entrepreneurial capabilities of the participants were tested through the stories they made up about ambiguous people. The tests were conducted to check positive entrepreneurship skills amongst students. The celebration concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by E - leader Komal Chauhan (15072) and Surbhi Bhardwaj (15103).

During the E week celebration from 14th to 21st February 2015, as a part of this week long program, the E - Leaders reached out to the school pupils so that in future these children can think of becoming an Entrepreneur rather an employee. E - leaders Shivansh Mudgil (15099), Anurag Vats (16029), Surbhi Bhardwaj (15103), Komal Chauhan (15072), Dishant Passi (16056) and Utkarsh Chadda (17163) visited 2 schools in a day where they introduced the pupils to Entrepreneurship. The schools visited were:

1. Dronacharya Sr. Sec. School, Farrukhnagar,

2. Hindu Rao School, Farrukhnagar,

3. Oxford Public School, Farrukhnagar,

4. Royal Public School, Wazirpur, Gurgaon,

5. Cambridge Sr. Sec. School, Farrukhnagar,

6. CCS School, Farrukhnagar,

7. Govt. Girl’s School, Farrukhnagar,

8. Govt. High School, Farrukhnagar,

9. Navyug Sr. Sec. School, New Delhi,

10. New Saraswati Public School, New Delhi.

11. Arya Public School, New Delhi,

12. Nathani International School, New Delhi

The students were told about the traits and difficulties of an Entrepreneur and were taught how to tackle them. They were made aware about the opportunities and were encouraged to reflect on their role as leaders and innovators. Motivational talks were carried on with the students along with skill building workshops, and awareness about entrepreneurship. Along with Idea Generation Activity another game called “Rs. 50” was also organized in the schools. In this game the students formed teams, each team took up an idea and by the end of the exercise, they were asked about what they have learned. The students participated with great enthusiasm in the activities and came up with new and different ideas.

Overall it was a very motivating and inspirational experience for both the students and the E - leaders.
