One Day Cisco Networking Workshop

 
 

On the eve of Engineers Day, Department of Computer Science & Engineering organized One Day Cisco Networking Workshop by Network Bulls on 15th September 2015 at Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon. Sixty Students from CSE, IT, ECE and ECS attended the workshop.

The workshop was piloted by Mr. Damanpreet Singh, Networking Trainer, Network Bulls. During the inauguration ceremony, Principal (Dr.) B. M. K. Prasad delivered the motivational speech on engineers’ day to encourage the students to be a better engineer and serve the nation.

Mr. Damanpreet Singh started the workshop by explaining the basics of networking terms. He discussed about the scope and career options in the field of networking. He categorized the fundamentals of the networking during the workshop and discussed about advantages of being in network centric world. Mr. Singh also explained the benefits of being Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).

Mr. Singh cleared the myths about Local Area Network “All the devices connected to the same network” and Real devices namely routers & switches. Also, he presented the working & need of VPN and effectively introduced classes of the IP addresses. A detailed introduction about Internet protocols and component of network through which students got an idea about how actually an IP address works. A hands-on practice on the routers and switch, setting the path to the server location was conducted during the workshop to show the real time implementation. He also told the use of proxy servers so that an individual can gain access to the sites that are blocked by the administrator computer block. The technical topic were also covered during the session such as OSI layer, connectivity of two different computer networks. With facts and figure, Mr. Singh projected the current market status and requirement for a network engineer.

The workshop was very informative, interactive and proved to be very fruitful as the students actively prompted in the Q&A round.
