Dronacharya College of Engineering in collaboration with iTEP orchestrated an online iTEP (International Test of English Proficiency) on 12 April 2014. iTEP is an English assessment body for EdCIL India Limited, a public sector enterprise under the Ministry of HRD, Government of India. It grails to conduct Educational Projects, Human Resource Development Projects, and English Skills Certification & Training Projects.Launched in 2007, iTEP is anglobally recognized English Certification having itsforks in 45 countries, affiliation with 450 USA Schools, Colleges and Universities with 245 Test centres globally. It is approved by more than 70 first classcompanies of the world like Microsoft, Wal-Mart, IBM, Philips etc. iTEP is approved by IITs & IIMs. It is also accredited by Academic Credentials Evaluation Institute (ACEI), Accrediting Council for Continuing Education & Training (ACCET), National Business Education Association (NBEA), American Association of Intensive English Program (AAIEP), Canadian Association of Second Language Teachers (CASLT) and Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL).

In the first round of the testing 100 students from all streams of Engineering participated in the iTEP Academic version. The event unlatched with the formal welcome extended to the iTEPteam which was lead by Mr. SharathSathindran, Country Manager, iTEP, India. Before the inception of the Exam, Mr. Sharath Sathindran inscribed the candidates appearing for the test and elucidated them about the significance of iTEP and its different versions.  The Academic test was for 90 minutes duration testing the students in four different fields such as Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing.

The holy grail of conducting this test was to make the students become conscious of their English language proficiency and assist them in improving their standard of English aptitude. The students took the test very enthusiasticallyrealising the need to attaina global English Proficiency Levelin the increased competitiveness of Indian and global scenario.
