A two-day International Conference on Agriculture, Food technologies and Environment - New Approaches (AFTENA-2013) was organized by Krishi Sanskriti atJawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi on 19th-20th October, 2013. The objective of this conference was to provide a platform for experts, scholars and researchers from academia and Industry to discuss currents trends of research in Agricultural Technologies, Energy Technologies, Food production and security, Environmental Sciences, Remote Sensing and Agricultural bio-Technology etc.

Prof. (Dr.) R. C. Sharma from Applied Sciences & Humanities Department, Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon presented his research paper entitled “Energy from the Ocean and scope of its utilization in India” in the conference.

Distinguished academicians Prof. (Dr). M. R. Tripathy, Amity University Noida; Dr. Dinesh Kumar Senior Scientist, Water Technology Center, IARI New Delhi; Prof. (Dr.) Vachaspati Mishra, Lovely Professional University, Punjab; Prof. (Dr.) Abhijit Borah, Assam Agriculture University and Dr. Sneh Gangwar, Aditi Mahavidyalaya, Delhi University also enlightened on various topics of Agriculture, Environment and Food technologies etc.

The conference was concluded by Prof. G. C. Mishra, Organizing Secretary. The conference was highly innovative, application oriented and knowledge - based.
