Regional Conference on ANSYS Products ‘Convergence - 2014’ |
|
Mr. Bhupender Soni, Faculty from Electronics & Communication Engineering Department of Dronacharya college of Engineering, Gurgaon attended the A regional conference ‘Convergence-2014’ on ANSYS Products organized by Dell-soft Technologies in partnership with ‘FUJITSU’, ‘NVIDA’ and ‘BOSTON’ at Le Meridien, Janpath, New Delhi on May 22nd, 2014.
|
The conference initiated with welcome note from Mr. Rafiq Somani, Country Sales manager, ANSYS India. After formal introduction of the chief guest and invited speakers, Mr. Sunder Raman Mohan, Manager-Section Head, Siemens Energy relinquished a keynote talk. Invited speaker Dr. Vivek Buwa, Associate Professor, Department of Chemical Engineering, IIT Delhi, instigated the concept of advanced materials and their applications in modern system design. |
A valuable technical presentation was relinquished by Mr. Amit Aggrawal, Director-Technical, ANSYS INDIA. During his talk, he spotlighted on composite structures and various challenges met by technocrats during the design process. He exposed the interdisciplinary concepts of problem solving by integrating systems for ANSYS products in basically three tracks viz structures, fluid dynamics and electro-magnetic theory. Also, he chewed over the basic physics involved in various problems by considering an example of aerodynamics. He concluded that heat is generated by electro-magnetic losses, data transfers between physics and high speed digital design as the major challenges in the field of electromagnetic theory. He elaborated about Turbo-charges as a proposed solution to these problems. |
Mr. Narain Kulkarni, Solution Architect for HPC Solution, FUJITSU India, instigated the simulation workload, evaluation system configuration and their business context. He also touched upon HPC cluster suit as the recent product of their organization. Mr. Roshan Thomas Mathews’, Engineer HPC, BOSTON, highlighted on the concept of increasing the work speed by the use of GPUs in ANSYS@15.0 with NVIDA processors. He technically elucidated the use of GPU and parallel processing by considering the simulation example. |
In post-lunch session, the conference was conducted in three different tracks: Structure, Fluids and electronics track. |
Mr. Gaurav Handa, Head-Sales, ANSYS INDIA instigated different types of ANSYS software for high frequency simulation work. He deliberated about various technical aspects of simulation software like HFSS, Q3D, and SLWAVE etc. He disclosed the advantages and simplicity of these softwares by considering few examples of basic antennas. He suggested a solution for EMI, a very common but tough challenge for a communication engineer. |
The conference concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Amit Aggrawal, Director-Technical, ANSYS INDIA, after prize distribution preceded by an exciting lucky draw for participants. Overall the conference waseducative in the track of ‘Electromagnetic’ for attendees. |
