MICROSOFT OFFICE SPECIALIST CHAMPIONSHIP 2015

The Microsoft Office Specialist Championship 2015 is organized by Certiport, Inc. It is a global competition that tests students' skills on Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Top students are invited to represent their respective countries at the World Championship. The competition has three rounds:

1. Qualification Round

2. India Championship

3. World Championship

Thirty three students from Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon participated in the Qualification round.

On 19th April, 2015 one hundred and fifty students from all over India including twelve students from Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon, securing a top score in the Qualification Round were invited to compete in the India Championship. This phase of the competition included rounds on Microsoft Office Specialist Word 2013, Microsoft Office Specialist Excel 2013, Microsoft Office Specialist PowerPoint 2013, Microsoft Office Specialist Word 2010, Microsoft Office Specialist Excel 2010, Microsoft Office Specialist PowerPoint 2010. In this round the students were given printed instructions, guidelines and digital assets to assist in the recreation of a given subject. Students scored according to the accuracy of their recreation, when compared to the original. Varun Saluja, (Roll No. 15530), Information Technology Department of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon achieved 2nd rank in MOS India National Championship (Compudon Season 5) 2015 for Excel 2013 and was awarded with a Notionink tablet, a silver medal and a certificate at the award distribution ceremony held on 23rd of May 2015 at India Habitat Centre, Lodhi Road, New Delhi.

From the India Championship event, the top students in each of the six exam tracks participated in the World Champion.
