Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon organized Microsoft Ideation Festival – 2014, on 22nd Jan, 2014 and initiated Microsoft Innovation Centre in the campus which would help in accelerating skills and provide support in developing new ideas. It will also help students in nurturing and harboring their Innovations, thus, enacting their ideas into products and fostering entrepreneurship resulting in financial gains also.

42 students from various departments have participated in the MS Ideation Festival and presented their ideas on various topics like Floating display, Colors of India, Virtual Maps, the Eye-ability Maker for the disabled people, Delay Trauma etc. The idea behind this fest was to encourage the young researchers and student community with their innovative ideas, which are more relevant to contemporary day society yet innovative enough to reflect the mindset of today’s highly creative young generation.

All the ideas presented by student participants were pronounced by the steering committee. The candidates were evaluated on four main parameters namely, Problem statement, Approach used in solving the problem, Innovation & Feasibility. Top 15 ideas delivered by students have received a Certificate of Achievement from the institution.
