MARATHON - 2013

Believing in the physical, mental and spiritual development of the students, the Health Club of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon organised the Marathon-2013 with a theme “Donate your Miles for Women Security” on 27th November 2013. More than 450 students from the college participated ina Four Kilometre race competition.

Inaugurating the event Marathon-2013, the Chief Guest Hon’ble Smt. Bharti Arora, Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Gurgaon expressed that such sort of activities are important to remain healthy, fit and fine. She also appreciated the dedication, preparation and interest of participants throughout the race.

Dr. Satish Yadav, Hon’ble Chairman, Dronacharya Group of Institutions also presided over duringMarathon-2013. Encouraging the sports spirit in students, he shared that the importance of race in the life of a young student is invaluable. Prof. M.N. Hussain, Principal, DCE also wished good luck to the participants and appealed to participate in such events more.

After the race Marathon 2013 the First prize was given to Kanishk, the second was conferred to Yaduvanshi and Manish Rawat stood on the third position among the boys whereas Shweta Saini, Neeti and Priyanka bagged the first, second and third positions respectively.

The Chief Guest Hon’ble Smt. Bharti Arora Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Gurgaon gave away prizes, to the position holders.The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Prof. Swati Jha, the Convener of MARATHON - 2013.
