Eighty five students from ECE & EEE visited the KIKI CENTRE OF TECHNOLOGY, IMT Manesar, Gurgaon accompanied by faculty members, Dr. Poonam Kaushik and Mrs. Ashu Soni from ECE department, on 11th & 12th Nov 2014. The Centre has been established with the support of the World Bank program. It focuses on imparting high quality skill development based on the industry needs. The center occupies an area of 55,000 sq feet and has industrial machinery, equipment, simulation laboratories with well equipped classrooms. The visit commenced with a presentation by Mrs. Shilpi Satija from HR department KIKI centre. She briefed about the KIKI Centre and the programmes offered. Mr. Shridharan demonstrated the working of robot with PLC programming, CNC machinery, use of servo motors in robotics and Pneumatic & Hydraulic controller based mini projects. Three major programmes available at the centre are :
CNC – a machine operation course which deals with Metrology Essentials, Engineering Drawing Essentials and Tooling and Work holding devices.
VMC, CAD/CAM- a machine and programming oriented course which deals with canned cycles programming, inspection and dimension control of work piece and essentials of soft skills.
Tool Room Machines- an advance machine programming course which deals with tool path generation, maintenance of CNC machines, EDM, wire EDM and 5S Soft Skills. |
