OWASP INFOSEC

A team of five students Himanshu Sethi (Roll No. 14428), Himanshu Sharma (Roll No. 14429) Ishaan Vij (Roll No. 14431), Deepak Vasishtha (Roll No. 14413) and Vaibhav (Roll No. 14507) from Information Technology Department represented Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon in the International OWASP InfoSec Conference on August 30th, 2013 at Hotel Crowne Plaza Today, Gurgaon. The Conference offered special slots to network with cyber security celebrities, decision makers, government top brass, and peers.

The conference started with a welcome note by Mr. Dhruv Soi, Chair – OWASP India, Founder – Torrid Networks, India. Inaugurating the conference Dr. Gulshan Rai, Director General, CERT-In and Group Coordinator of E-Security and Cyber Law Division, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, India talked about different security steps required in browsers extensions, Google chrome etc.

Mr. Azzeddine Ramrami, Enterprise Security Architect, A Big CAC 40 Company, France and Mr. Muktesh Chander, Joint Commissioner of Police , New Delhi talked on “International Perspective on Cyber Security" and “ State of National Critical Information Infrastructure" respectively.

Other distinguished speakers Mr. Krzyszt of Kotowicz , IT Security Consultant , Secu Ring; Mr. Shreeraj Shah, Founder, BlueInfy; Mr. K. K. Mookhey, Founder, NII Consulting; Mr. Alok Gupta, Founder & Managing Director, Pyramid, India; Mr. Martin Knobloch Owner, PervaSec, The Netherlands; Mr. Hemil Shah , Founder and Director, eSphere Security also shared their views on HTML5 driven CSRF, Cross Origin Resource Sharing (CORS) policy, DOM variable extraction with XSS, Layered XSS, Exploiting HTML5 tags etc. The conference was useful as the participants learnt cross site response extraction, hacking policy, code security etc and they availed the opportunity to interact with experts on different issues.
