INDUSTRIAL VISIT

The Computer Science & Engineering Department of, Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon organised an industrial visit to Network Bulls, Gurgaon on 4th November 2015. Fourty five students from CSE, ECS, IT, ME, and ECE Departments, along with faculty coordinator Mr. Amar Saraswat visited the organisation.

Network Bulls provides advanced trainings in Associate, Professional and Expert level in Routing & Switching, Security and Voice track certifications which are offered by Cisco Systems. Network Bulls’ Networking Training Labs are well equipped with latest Cisco racks and devices. Network Bull’s CCIE certified team provides trainings in courses like CCNA R&S, CCNA Voice, CCNA Security, CCNA Data Centre, CCNA Wireless, CCNP R&S, CCNP Voice, CCNP Security, CCNP Data Centre, CCIE R&S V5, CCIE Voice/Collaboration, CCIE Security V4, CCSA, CEH as well as MCITP and MCSE 2012.

Mr. Pratap Jantua, Network Consultant, Network Bulls gave the basic introduction about networking. He discussed various hybrid network devices such as multilayer switches, protocol converters, bridge routers, proxy servers, firewalls, network address translators, multiplexers, network interface controllers, wireless network interface controllers, modems, ISDN terminal adapters, line drivers, wireless access points, networking cables and other related hardware used in networking.

The students visited the labs of Network Bulls, which encompassed fully dedicated racks and devices, CCNA R&S, CCNA Security and CCNA Voice racks and devices, CCNP R&S, CCNP Security, CCNP Voice, CCIE R&S V5, CCIE Security V4 and CCIE Voice/Collaboration tracks. During the lab visit, Mr. Pratap explained that the features of every device. Thereafter in a hands on session Mr. Pratap, demonstrated the usage of routers, different kinds of cables and ports. He also created a virtual network in Cisco Packet Tracer, and illustrated the sending and receiving of the packets over the network. He explained the students about the use of proxy servers so that an individual can gain access to the sites that are blocked by the administrator computer block.

A detailed introduction about Internet protocols and component of network was given so that the students got an idea about the working procedure of IP address. The technical topics were also covered during the session such as OSI layer, connectivity of two different computer networks and copper-based Ethernet adapter.

In the end, there was a doubt clearing session for the students. The industrial visit proved to be beneficial for those students who are interested in the field of networking as it gave them the industrial exposure.
