INAUGURATION

On 17th January 2014, Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon established another Information Resource Centre with a purpose to provide Information Communication Technologies for students and faculty members through having rich resources of e-books, e-journals, e-magazines, e-papers, e-granthalaya, educational CD-ROMs etc. IRC have a membership of INDEST-AICTE Consortium,InfoTrac Engineering Collection, GlobalPeriodicals.com, DELNET, British Council Library, American Centre Library, National Science Library, N-List etc.

The Information Resource Centre was inaugurated by Hon’ble Mataji Smt. Anguri Devi who alwayskeeps on inspiring the faculty and students to be more creative.In her inaugural address, Hon’ble Mata ji shared her vision to see the Dronacharyans across the globe highlighting the name of their alma mater through their dedication, devotion, commitment and profession. She expressed that this resource centre is another feather in the cap of the Institution.

Addressing the faculty and other guests, Hon’ble Dr. Satish Yadav, Chairman, Dronacharya College of Engineering said that the Information Resource Centre will provide the facility to faculty, students and other staff. The library provides a range of information resources in electronic and print format, covering the various subject areas of Engineering & Technology.

Expressing his views Hon’ble Principal Prof. (Dr.) M.N. Hussain said that without having a proper and academics-oriented infrastructure, no education system can sustain and achieve its laid down goals.He emphasised the role of library as the heart, mind and soul of an educational institution and a fountain-head of innovativeness, inspiration and insight both for the students and the faculty.

The function came to an end with the vote of thanks delivered by the Librarian K. U. Farooqui.
