INNOVATION FOR BETTER TOMORROW

Innovation for Better Tomorrow (IBETO) event is a part of Excel Mec Fest sponsored by IEEE and organised by the Govt. Model Engineering College Kerala on 27th September 2014. Nikhil Goel (Roll no. 14455), Gaurav Sharma (Roll no. 14422), Monu Mukerya (Roll no. 14448) and Ishaan Madan (Roll no. 14430), students of IT VII semester, reached the finals of IBETO Excel 2014.

IBETO, as the name suggests, is the project competition that craves for most innovative projects. Dronacharyans proposed the idea for an android application that allows reporting missing people through application- just like an e-report filing system. The idea was very much innovative and creative. After clearing two rounds for the next round a prototype was presented which was very much liked by the judges. Dronacharyans made it to the top 5 teams for the grand finale which held in Kerala.

On the final day, all teams were prepared with their presentations and demo of their projects. The event was organised in the seminar hall. The college fest organising team started with an introduction of the college and further told about the fest and also introduced the judges and the top 5 teams for the event. The event was headed by the delegates from IEEE. After this, the teams were invited for their project presentations and live demonstration.

In the end the judges announced the results. Students from DCE, Gurgaon bagged a cash prize of Rs 5000/- and 4th position in this event.
