Connected Small Business - India’s Digital Transformation

 

A seminar on “Connected Small Business-India’s Digital Transformation” was organized by Google Apps for Work on 24th July 2015 at Hyatt Regency, Delhi. Priya Yadav (16955), from Computer Science & Engineering Department of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon attended the event.

The seminar aimed at to provide in-depth knowledge of cloud-based tools to become part of India’s expanding mobile workforce and digital economy.

The welcome note was given by Mr. Mohit Pande, Country Manager, Google for Work India. He discussed about Google apps to make Small and Medium Businesses more digitalised. Through presentation, Mr. Pande explained about the ways in which Google helps in promoting small and medium sized businesses globally and about first hand cloud technology, through which growth of Indian businesses houses can be accelerated to make them globally competitive.

A panel discussion was conducted by Google and Deloitte experts to share the common situations faced without the use of interactive tools. A panel discussion on this topic was initiated and the following dignitaries participated in it:

Mr. Prakash C Prabhakar, Director Deloitte in India,

Ms. Taru Dahiya, Head of Sales,

Mr. Vinay Barar, Vice President, Powerica Limited,

Mr. Mohit Pande, Country Manager, Google for Work India and

Mr. Ankit Agarwal, Product Manager at Delhivery.

Ms. Taru Dahiya demonstrated live streaming of connecting people with their ideas so that they can take their businesses to the top via Google interactive tools.

Mr. Prakash C Prabhakar presented keynotes on Unlocking India’s digital potential and included that how digitally engaged Small to Medium Businesses (SMB) in India can reap huge digital dividends. Mr. Prabhakar also discussed that moving from offline to advance digital engagement could see revenue growth up to 27 percentage points higher for individual SMBs.

After the panel discussion, Mr. Harshal Pendse, Head Sales Engineering, Google for Work, influenced the gathering with magic played with interactive tools at real time. He also discussed that digitally engaged small and medium businesses (SMBs) can play a key role in driving India's growth agenda more than those who have not started their digital adoption journey.
