As the chief guest, Mr. Rajeev Kher, Commerce Secretary, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, mentioned new foreign policy involving International Trade and India’s road to multilateral setting where it is applicable. He also informed about international trade foundation for five to ten years to see the importance of exports with higher rate of growth relates to the important meaning of promoting, monitoring exports for good economic development, good economic growth. For the development of the policy it is required to identify the strategy with financial support and the deserving areas. Government needs to see segment of product area, destination of the market, deficiency of the market especially for most developed countries in long term horizon. He suggested there should be a proper interaction with industries to identify important sustained market area for which the research institute can play a great role. Also there should be export promotion scheme to bridge and restructure, re-engineer the challenges faced by the textile sector and think the export subsidy for long term sustainable development where India stands for trade policy. |
