Ms. Amninder Kaur, Associate Professor and Ms. Jyoti Yadav, Assistant Professor from Electronics & Communication Engineering Department of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon attended a one - day workshop on ‘ELECTROMAGNETIC SIMULATION WITH COMSOL’ organized by ‘COMSOL India Ltd’. at ‘New Bridge Business Centres Technopolis’, Gurgaon on 26th March 2014.

The objective of this workshop was to provide an introduction to the electromagnetic simulation and key features of microwave heating via a combination of hands-on examples, lectures and guided tutorials.

The distinguished speakers Mr. Lakhvinder Singh, Branch Manager; Mr. Sumantra Chaudhary, Application Engineer and Mr. Swapnil Badgujar, Application Engineer made the participants well familiar with different aspects of COMSOL through delivering lectures on Electromagnetic Simulations & their different modules in various application areas; Automatic Mesh Construction; Demo of Multi-turn coil above conductor plate model; Hands on session on microwave heating.

The workshop provided an interactive environment to students & researchers for modelling and simulating scientific and engineering problems in the areas of Acoustics, Chemical Species Transport, Electrochemistry, Fluid Flow, Heat Transfer, Optics, Plasma, Radio Frequency, Structural Mechanics, Semiconductor, Mathematics.

The workshop was useful as the participants learnt and practiced ‘Multiturn Coil above Conductor Plate Model’, ‘Microwave Heating’, electromagnetic fields, currents and waves for RF, microwave, optical and other high-frequency devices etc.
