DRONTECH-2014

Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon organised a two-day technical festival Drontech-14 on 28th and 29th March 2014. The objective of this technical event was to provide an interdisciplinary forum of confluence for a variety of technical potentials.

Drontech-14 was inaugurated on 28th March by Hon’ble Chief-Guest Prof. (Dr.) P.B. Sharma, Vice- Chancellor, Delhi Technology University, Delhi. Addressing the participants he expressed that Drontech is a platform for many budding technocrats to create techno-academic vibrations and reinvent the potential to dwell upon the imaginative, intuitive and intelligentsia effect on sensational brain game. He further encouraged the students to participate in the events with a mission to float in the desired aura of oceanic technical knowledge for common welfare of mankind.

On the first day the students participated in the events like Extempore, Panel discussion, Matpro, Auto CAD, Project Competition, Technical quiz, Paper Presentation, Tina Pro, Scrap Heap, Project Competition, Exposure-de- Campus, Rangoli etc. During these events distinguished guests and panellists from academia and techno-world were present. Prof. (Dr.) C.P. Katti, Dean (SCSS), JNU, New Delhi; Mr. Anuj Gupta, Director, Alcatel Lucent India Ltd, Gurgaon; Mr. Macro Titz, Best KOKI TECHNIK, Gurgaon; Mr. Rakesh Pandey, Director, Oracle; Mr. Vijay Sethi, CEO, Hero Honda Corps, Gurgaon, Mr. B.S. Sinha, CEO, Idea Bulls; Former Wg. Cdr. K.K. Verma , Prof. (Dr.) B. M. K. Prasad witnessed the enthusiastic participation of the students.

The events like Code-e-Thon, Paradigm, Web designing, Technical Hunt, Technical Discussion, Robotics, Papyrus Paper Presentation, LAN Gaming etc were conducted on the second day in the august presence of eminent academics and representatives of Industry. Prof. (Dr.) Satendra Kumar Sharma, Director (USIC), JNU, New Delhi; Mr. Sandeep Ghai, HR Global aon Hewitt; Mr. Manish Tiwari, Chief-Engineer, Power Grid , Gurgaon; Ms. Arti Noor, Joint Director, School of Engineering, Noida were among the panellists in the events.

The event concluded with the prize distribution ceremony to the meritorious students who secured positions in the events of Drontech 2014. During this auspicious moment Hon’ble Principal Prof. (Dr.) M.N. Hussain, the Registrar Prof. (Dr.) S.K. Yadav and all HoDs were present.

Prof. (Dr.) Jitender Kumar, the convenor of Drontech-2014 expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the panellists, the Principal, Registrar, all HODs, faculty members, staff and students for their contribution in making the event a great success.
