“Research Issues And Simulation Tools In Wireless Technologies”

 

A five day Conference on “Research Issues and Simulation Tools in Wireless Technologies” was organized by Birla Institute of Technology, Noida from 23rd to 27th September 2013. Seven students Arunabha Debnath (Roll No. 13600); Chahat Yadav (Roll No. 13158), Anita Dangi (Roll No. 13142), Naresh Kumar (Roll No. 13775), Abhinandan (Roll No. 13), Aakash Khanna (Roll No. 13134) and Sachin Rana (Roll No. 15852) from Electronics & Communication Engineering Department, Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon attended the conference.

Inaugurating the Program Dr. Ashok Chandra, Deputy Secretary, Wireless Advisor to the Government of India (Former) & Adjunct Professor, IIT Mumbai shared his views on “Role of International Telecommunications Union (ITU) and Spectrum Management”. He also explained the practical usage of Radio Spectrum, Need of Regulation, International Telecommunications Union (ITU), Radio Communication Sector (ITU-R) and World Radio Conference etc.

Mr. Pranav Jha from Aricent Technologies; Dr. Emmanuel S. Pilli, from Malaviya National Institute Of Technology(MNIT), Jaipur; Dr. Sateesh K. Peddoju, IIT, Roorkee and Mr. Ankur Tyagi, from Eigen Technologies; enlightened the participants on various topics like “Radio Resource Management for the 4th Generation Cellular Networks”,“Network Simulator-2”, “Wireless Networks In Network Simulator-2”, “QualNet Analyser” etc.

The Conference was beneficial for the participants as they learnt graphic representation through X-Graph, Trace Graph, Mobile Networking & Simulations, Ad-hoc networks, Heterogeneous Networks, Wireless Protocols and Result Analysis through NS-2, Implementation of Flooding Attack and other relevant tools of wireless technologies. They also got anexposure on various practical issues to handle various network tools like NS-2 and QualNet.
