ANNUAL SPORTS

Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon organized the Annual Sports Meet for Students on 25th and 26th October 2013. Students from various departments took part in different sports. The sports for boys were: Cricket, Volley Ball, Basket Ball, Tug of War, Table Tennis, 100 meters race and Sack Race. The girls participated in Cricket, Basket Ball, Table Tennis, Tug of War, 100 meters race, Lemon Spoon Race and Matka Race. The boys were divided into 8 teams as follows:

Team A: ECE + ECS + EEE + ME (1st year)

Team B: IT + CSE + CSE & IT + CIVIL (1st year)

Team C: ME (2nd, 3rd, 4th year)

Team D: ECE (2nd, 3rd, 4th year)

Team E: CSE (2nd, 3rd, 4th year)

Team F: IT (2nd, 3rd, 4th year)

Team G: CIVIL (2nd, 3rd, 4th year)

Team H: ECS + EEE (2nd, 3rd, 4th year)

The detail of teams for girls was as:

Team I: 1st year

Team J: ME + CIVIL + IT (2nd, 3rd, 4th year)

Team K: CSE (2nd, 3rd, 4th year)

Team L: ECE + ECS + EEE (2nd, 3rd, 4th year)

The Tug of War for Boys was won by Team G ( Students of Civil Engineering ) whereas the Tug of War Girls was won by Team K (CSE). Himanshu (a student of ME 2nd year) won the Gold Medal in the Table Tennis finals. In the 100 meter Race, Manish Rawat (ME 3rd year) won the Gold Medal in the boys category whereas Mamta Mandal (IT 2nd year) won the Gold Medal in the girls category. Manish Rawat (ME 2nd year) also won the Gold Medal in the Sack Race. Anisha (4th year ECE) won the Gold Medal in Lemon Spoon Race. In Matka Race, Rekha (2nd year IT) won the Gold Medal.

Hon’ble Chairman Dr. Satish Yadav appreciated the caliber, enthusiasm and the sprit of sports in students of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon. He gave away trophies, medals and awards to the winners and motivated them to keep this spirit high in future as well.
