UXNOW 2015 : THE DESIGN CONFERENCE

IIT DELHI organized a one day conference UxNow2015: The Design Conference on 21st October 2015 at their campus. Akshit Jaggi (15453) and Aditya Chhillar (15449) from the IT department of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon attended the event.

The objective of the conference was to bring people from diverse backgrounds like designers, entrepreneurs, academicians, developers, students and provide them a multidisciplinary platform to discuss challenges and potential solutions.

The event started with the inaugural address by Prof. Pradeep Yammiyavar. He has been working in the area of multi and interdisciplinary programs related to Innovation, Design, Management & Technology in multiple roles of Researcher and Designer of Products and product systems with emphasis on User Centered Design, Usability Engineering. He shared his experience of his involvement with the ‘’ Design for India ‘’ concept.

Mr. Anshuman Bapna, Chief Product Officer, Makemytrip delivered the welcome address. He explained the significance of the conference to the design fraternity, entrepreneurs, Startups and young students.

Mr. Kavin Mittal, founder & CEO of Hike messenger, was the keynote speaker for the event. He said that he aims to bring pan India on the digital platform. He discussed that Hike, the Android Playstore, started off with a vision to make one brand, one product & one India.

Mr. Kshitij Anand, Managing Trustee, Happy Horizons, discussed on teaching methods of rural India. He said that in this era of growth the development of rural India must not be left behind. He suggested that technology development must be such that will connect instantly & help in educating the mass. This will lead to the development of the nation as a whole.

Mr. Anshuman Bapna, CEO and Co Founder of Mygola gave his views on the challenges in designing for India. He said that though everything is rooted with challenges and designing must be as per Indian audience. During the discussion experts from different walks of life present at the at the event shared their experiences, opinions & pain points in their journey so far.

It was an enriching experience for the participants. They gained knowledge from the discussions of the eminent guests present at the conference.
