Thermography

Two faculty members Ms. Himanshi from CSE department and Mrs. Rashim Kumar from IT Department of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon attended a workshop on Thermography at Hotel Shervani, Nehru Place, New Delhi on 4th March, 2014.

The workshop was organized by Testo India Pvt. Limited and headed by Mr. Harish Sharma. It aimed to explore the concepts and practical applications of Thermography, IR images etc.

There was a detailed discussion on the basics of IR theory and thermography, Super Resolution Technology also. The speakers explained that the amount of radiation emitted by an object increases with temperature; therefore, thermography allows one to see variations in temperature. When viewed through a thermal imaging camera, warm objects stand out well against cooler backgrounds; humans and other warm-blooded animals become easily visible against the environment, day or night. As a result, thermography is particularly useful to military and other users of surveillance cameras.

There was also a hands on session in which they used cameras to show thermography with different angles and different field of view. The workshop was useful and relevant to the leaners of Thermography.
