SEMINAR

Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon under the banner of IETE organized a seminar on “VLSI Design and Embedded Systems” in association with DKOP Labs, Noida on 26th April 2016. 60 students attended the seminar.

The aim of the seminar was to provide a platform for discussion and updation of knowledge on the recent developments in the field of VLSI Design and Embedded Systems and also to have a hands-on session on Digilent BASYS2 FPGA kit.

Two experts from DKOP Labs, Noida under the convener-ship of Mr. Bharat Chaudhary shared their views on Electronics Industry in India, Career Opportunities in the industry, VLSI and Embedded Systems, Microcontrollers and Programming using Embedded C etc. They also highlighted some of the recent projects fabricated by the students in association with their lab. This generated a lot of interest in the attendees as they were motivated to develop projects with new creative ideas.

Speaker stressed upon the importance of academic knowledge and advised the students to master atleast one technical area with its proper applications. He advised students to introspect their strengths and weaknesses and acquire technical and communication skills to lead the present world of technologies.

The experts gave the overview of VLSI industry and also explained the students about the kind of jobs available in this industry in India. They also shared some facts on the type of work going on the companies related to VLSI. Later, they also performed the hands-on session on VHDL and explained the experiments related to programming of FPGA.

Students were exposed to the world of electronics particularly VLSI Design and Embedded Systems. They were also provided excellent opportunity with hands-on to understand the electronics industry.
