SQL SERVER DAY

On 21st March 2015, SQLSeverGeeks.Com organized an Event on the topic “SQL SERVER DAY" at Microsoft Corporation (India), DLF Cyber City, Gurgaon. The session was delivered by Mr. Sarabpreet (SQL Server DBA, Speaker, Trainer, Blogger and Community Lead) and Mr. Rajiv Jog (Senior SQL Server DBA).

Ms Sarita, Assistant Professor from CSE Department and Mr. Dharmendra pal Assistant Professor from IT Department of Dronacharya College of Engineeirng, Gurgaon along with three students Pooja Nayak (15071), Pooja Gulia(15070) & Sumit Kumar(16162 attended this event.

SQLServerGeeks.com is a community portal on Microsoft SQL Server, an RDBMS product from Microsoft. SQL Server is key component of Microsoft’s Data & Business Intelligence Platform strategy. SQLServerGeeks.com tries to impart & spread knowledge around SQL Server through blogs, podcasts, and webcasts.

In SQL server event, the first Session was taken by Mr. Rajiv jog in which he talked about Extended Events such as what is Extended Events (XE), Why to use Extended Events and how it works. The Speaker also discussed about DB latch Contention & Predicates. Finally, attendees gone through a demo to find CPU expensive queries with the help of XE. Column store Index is a new feature in SQL Server 2014.

Mr. Sarabpreet Singh Anand (MVA) took the next session. The speaker had continued the session about, what is updatable column store Index. The session was very helpful and gave information about column store index and how updatable column store index work.

This is a very interactive and learning full experience. The session made the attendees more aware about SQL. The speaker also told us about their upcoming Seminar which would be organized for the features of SQL by them "SQL features 2014".It was really interactive and truly knowledgeable session with fruitful output of knowledge.
