SPEED - 2017

National Students’ Project Exhibition (SPEED - 2017) on 17th February, 2017 was organized by School of Engineering at GD Goenka University. 120 projects were exhibited from 38 colleges and universities.18 Teams from Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon were selected to demonstrate their project ideas for the final round of SPEED 2017.

The ‘Best project award’ was presented to Nishant Kumar (17096), Lokesh Pandey (17074) & Shubham Kumar (17139) from CSE department from Dronacharya College of Engineering for their project titled Digital Bank Locker System. The event was inaugurated by Mr. Venkatesh Sarvasiddhi, Head - Academic Initiatives & Microsoft Innovation Center, Microsoft, and Prof. (Dr.) Deependra Kumar Jha, Vice - Chancellor, GD Goenka University. In his opening remarks, talked about innovation and passion required for solving current and future challenges. For a country like India. Participants explained their innovations and details of their projects and demonstrated working prototypes.

Experts Mr. Alok Sinha, Chief Executive Officer at Globus Eight, Information Technology and Services judged various projects exhibited at SPEED - 2017. The programme ended with a prize distribution function illustrated the spirit of SPEED as being the platform to initiate a dialogue between college students to solve real life problems through engineering innovations. Cash Prizes along with Certificates were awarded to the best projects in various engineering disciplines as well as categories like best sustainable design, best innovative design, best cost - effective design and best project for a social cause. Through this exhibition the students got an opportunity to interact and exchange ideas with the students from other eminent colleges. It was an excellent platform for students to be aware of the level of research and project work that is being done in institutes all over the country having engineering and science background.

It was a good platform to showcase the talent and present the creative and innovative engineering solutions. Students got to learn many new things and got to see many more innovative and new projects which are based on new technologies and judges told the students about the modifications and new features that can added in their project.
