As a part of Golden Jubilee celebration of Computer Society of India (CSI) Student Chapter of Bharati Vidyapeeth's College of Engineering organized an event “Regional Students' Convention” on 3rd and 4th February, 2016. Anikete Bajaj (17511) and Charandeep Singh (17519) of Information Technology , Sushil Sharma (16942) and Uday (16945) of CSIT from Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon participated in the event.

The event brought together budding engineers, developers, and practitioners of Delhi - NCR region. Different competition LAN gaming, treasure hunt, line coding, group discussion, business plan, quiz, line follower, bug byte and tech it out were organized at the event. |
CSI, works for scientific and educational advancement of the theory and practice of computer science and IT in India. CSI Regional Student Convention (Region 1) 2016 was an opportunity for students to develop their skills as engineers and showcase their talent. One of the goals of the event was to focus on the students, their capabilities and developing their overall skill and potential. The Theme for the Convention was "SKILL INDIA - CAMPUS CONNECT".

The events that were organized on 3rd February, 2016 were as follows: |
Quizriwal - The event consisted of 2 rounds. The first round was a written one. The top 6 teams qualified for the second round. |
Business Plan – In this event the participants can pitch their ideas and assess themselves in terms of efficiency and viability. An entrepreneur is a business leader who looks for revolutionary ideas to bring the changes in life of mankind and puts them into effect to foster the economic growth and development of a country. To start a business, one needs an efficient business plan. So the event gave an opportunity to present B-PLAN. The participants also got to meet the angel investors and take a stepping stone towards their dream. |
Group Discussion - The event gave the students a tremendous platform to speak their hearts out and engage in a battle of words. They projected their elocution skills at the competition. |
LAN Gaming - Anikete Bajaj and Charandeep Singh participated in the Lan Gaming in which they played “Need for speed” game. The LAN gaming event included: |
1. COUNTERS STRIKE 1.6 – It is a popular and admired game among engineering students. 5 member team participated in the competition. Cash prizes were offered to the winner.
2. Need For Speed - This game attracted those participants who are interested in racing game (NFS).
3. FIFA 15 on PROJECTORS – Participants who like playing FIFA on computer mainly participated in this gaming contest. |
EPL Auction – This event gave a chance to the participants plan budget wisely, bid and buy the best of football players from all over the globe and form their own dream 11. |
Treasure Hunt – In this event the clues were spread across the campus. A team of maximum 4 participants took part in the competition. |
Street Play - CSI organised nukkad natak (Street Play) of making India digitalized. The main idea of nukkad natak was to show how India is digitalizing and adopting various technologies. |
On 4th February, 2016 the competitions that took place in the event were: |
Uni - Code - CSI organized a coding competition that involved solving programming challenges. So participants with coding skills competed and showcased their skills. This was a core coding event consisting of algorithmic solving challenges. It had two rounds - preliminary round (15 min) consisting of MCQs followed by main event of 1 hour. |
Bug Byte - This was a debugging event and was conducted in two rounds over a period of two hour duration which will have a preliminary round - MCQ paper (15 min followed by 15 min break) and debugging which is the main event having 2 questions for debugging (1.5 hrs). |
Tech it Out - “TECH IT OUT “ was a Tech Quiz from ‘Silicon valley to Bangalore’ ‘Logos to Taglines’ to on - going start - up. |
Line Follower – It was an event based on robotics. It required the participants to build a line follower robot, which is capable of following line path which is produced in front of it. |
The two days event was informative, skill based but simultaneously fun filled. Students got a lot of practical exposure through these participations. |
