PILOT TESTING

On 19th November 2014, the pilot testing of new Online Test Interface on Inkscape by IIT Bombay was organised for the students of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon. The test was conducted under the supervision of Mrs. Chitra Kaul Resource Centre Coordinator (Spoken Tutorial). A total of 25 students from the first year appeared in this pilot test.

Inkscape is a free and open source vector graphics editor implementing full support for the Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) 1.1. standards. It is cross -platform software and runs on OS X, UNIX, and Microsoft windows.

The pre-requisite for the testing was that the participants should have undergone the Python course via Spoken Tutorial SELF Workshop. The students attended the two hour workshop and completed the assignments given to them at the end of tutorial. After the workshop the feedback was shared on line and some of the students interacted with the IIT team through Skype. The students enjoyed working on the new interface. All the participants got the certificate of participation.

This participation helped the creative team of IIT to refine the Test Interface to be better in the terms of usability and effective for the students.
