8th National Research Methodology Workshop for Computer Science
27th -30th August 2016
Ms. Sarita, Assistant Professor, with two students Mohit Yadav (17085) and Shubham Kumar (17139) from Department of Computer Science & Engineering of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon attended a workshop on “Research Methodology” from 27th-30th August 2016 at Prestige Group of Institution, Gwalior.
Day 1: 27th August
Dr. Saurabh Mukherjee, Associate professor, Banasthali University, Rajasthan started the session by giving a brief introduction on how to prepare research papers which involved: Objective corresponding to specific domain, Literature Review, Research Methodology, Results and Discussions, Writing the references etc.
Later, students learned the basics of MATLAB toolboxes. Students also learned Medical Image Processing (MIPs) including its scope and utilities. Its physics and spectrum of usage in our daily life. Medical Image Processing (MIPs) is the technique and process of creating visual representations of interior of a body for clinical analysis and medical intervention, as well as visual representation of the function of some organs or tissues. Medical imaging seeks to reveal internal structures hidden by skin and bones, as well as to diagnose and treat disease. In the clinical context, medical imaging is generally equated to radiology.
Day 2: 28th August
On the second day of workshop students learned about DICOM and Angiography Analysis using DICOM. After the lunch, Students started learning image processing using MATLAB. MATLAB is a multi-paradigm numerical computing environment and fourth-generation programming language. A proprietary programming language developed by MathWorks, MATLAB allows matrix manipulations, plotting of etc.
During the session Eminent speaker Dr. Saurabh Mukherjee told about image enhancement which contains methods including Brightness Enhancement, Contrast, Image Negative or Inverse Transformation., Thresholding in images, Image enhancement in frequency domain and Image improvement.
Day 3: 29th August
On the last day speaker gave some useful tips to write a Research Paper. After that students were divided into two different teams for writing the Research Paper.
Writing of research Paper included Topic, Abstract, Introduction, Literature Review, Research Gap and Objectives, Research Methodology, Experimental Setup, Results and Discussion, Conclusion, References / Bibliography.
Both the teams completed their respective Research Paper and presented to Dr. Saurabh Mukherjee (Eminent Speaker).
Workshop was very useful for students as well as Research scholar.
