Two faculty members Mr. Tarun Verma (Assistant Professor, ECS Department) and Mr. Chain Singh (Assistant Professor, CSE Department) from Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon attended a one - day awareness program on National Mission on Education through Information & Communication Technology (NMEICT) organized by National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra in association with National Institute of Technical Teacher’s Training & Research, Chandigarh under the aegis of MHRD, Govt. of India on September 26, 2014.
The program was started with a welcome address by Prof. Sathans (Professor & Program Convener) followed by inaugural address by Prof. Anand Mohan (Director NIT, Kurukshetra). In his presentation Prof. M.P. Poonia (Director NITTTR, Chandigarh) put emphasis on the need and importance of Education through Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in our country.
Another speaker Prof. Maitreyee Dutta (HOD CSE Dept. NITTTR, Chandigarh ) gave a overview of NMEICT Projects and explained about its various products like Aakash Tablet, Python, OSCAD, SCI LAB, E-Yantra, PG-Pathshala, Spoken Tutorials, E-Pathshala.
During the last session, Mr. Abhishek from Amrita University, emphasized the importance of A-View and shared the ways how to use it in teaching. Ms. Kusum from IIT Bombay, also gave an idea about Spoken Tutorial.
The program was beneficial and relevant as the participants got an opportunity to learn the how to practice Information & Communication through Technology (ICT) in education sector.
