NACORE 16

A National Conference on Research in Emerging Areas (NACORE-16) was organized by Amal Jyothi College of Engineering from 28th - 30th January 2016. The conference was conducted through 22 Nodal Centers across the country through online presentations. The themes of NACORE - 16 were Cyber Security, Software Engineering Web, Ontology Engineering, Distributed System and Current Trends & Global Perspectives in Computing. Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon got associated with AJCE as Nodal Centre for online presentations in Haryana, as NC ID - 143. There were seven papers presented on different themes of NACORE’16 from Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon.

The faculty members from Computer Science & Engineering and Electronics & Computer Engineering Department of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon presented their research papers through online presentations (A - VIEW) on the following topics:

1. Taxonomy for Adhoc Routing Protocols And Current Issues And a Sneak Peak into the Applications and Challenges of Data Mining - Dr. Neelam Ruhil, Ms. Poonam Yadav and Ms. Parul Bansal.

2. A Sneak Peak into the Application and Challenges of Data Mining – Ms. Priyanka Mahani.

3. Elgamal Based Message Recovery Using Efficient Digital Signature Technique - Ms. Pankti Brar and Ms. Renu Narwal.

4. Data Hiding Tools: A Comparative Study- Ms. Ashu Khurana and Mr. Amar Saraswat.

5. A Simulation Study on Four Wave Mixing by Using Optimum Simulator - Ms. Reva Nagi, Mrs. Neha Dahiya and Mrs. Neha Malik.

6. A Review Paper on Panoramic Image - Ms. Kshitija Pol.

7. Study Of Minimization Of Interference Problem In Wireless Sensor Network - Ms. Sarita and Mr. Krishanu Kundu.

The conference meant to provide a forum for scientists, scholars, engineers, academicians, researchers and students from the universities and the industry across the country, to present ongoing research activities, and to foster research relations between the universities and the industry. The conference provided opportunities for the delegates to exchange new ideas and application experiences on the various aspects of Cyber Security and other themes of conference and to discuss the practical challenges encountered and the solutions adopted.

DAY 1: Distributed System and Data Management System

The conference started with a welcome address by Rev. Dr. Jose Kannampuzha, Principal, Amal Jyothi College of Engineering. The presentations on the first day were dedicated to the topics related to Distributed system and Data management system. Faculty members Dr. Neelam Ruhil, Ms. Poonam Yadav and Ms. Parul Bansal From Dronacharya College of Engineering presented their paper on “TAXONOMY FOR ADHOC ROUTING PROTOCOLS AND CURRENT ISSUES” in which various routing protocols of Ad - Hoc networks were discussed. The goal of these routing protocols is to reduce delays, control packet overhead, maximize throughput, and minimize the end to end delay. They talked about the various challenges related to developing of routing protocols for Ad - Hoc networks need to be dealt with.

The second presentation on this day was of Ms. Priyanka Mahani and her topic was “A SNEAK PEAK INTO THE APPLICATIONS AND CHALLENGES OF DATA MINING” which illustrated the various issues related to Data Mining to make it scalable. It also addressed the need of interactive data mining methods, integration of data mining with database systems, data warehouse systems, web database systems, privacy protection and information security in data mining. Prof. Megha Goel, was the session chair for this day for various papers that were presented from different colleges across India.

DAY 2: Cyber Security

The second day of the conference was dedicated to research topic related to Cyber Security, Photo - acoustic tomography and applications, stochastically evolving non - local search for global optimization and cloud security and its opportunities. In the session for cyber security there were two paper presentations. The first was by Ms. Pankti Brar and Ms. Renu on the topic “ELGAMAL BASED MESSAGE RECOVERY USING EFFICIENT DIGITAL SIGNATURE TECHNIQUE” which was related to increasing the security over the network by adding one more random number to Elgamal based digital signature technique since most of the data that is transferred over the internet nowadays needs authenticity, privacy, non repudiation and integrity.

The second paper was presented by Ms. Ashu Khurana on the topic “DATA HIDING TOOLS: A COMPARATIVE STUDY” which was related to steganography. There are many steganographic tools for hiding the information within any digital media (like image, audio, video and text files. A comparative study of 5 stegnographic tools (F5, NSF5, JP, hide & Seek, PQ) in terms of accuracy was done. It was concluded from the comparative study that NS5 gives the best results. The session was followed up by a plenary talk, given by Dr. Debashish Roy from IISc Bangalore on the area of “A stochastically evolving non - local search for global optimation”. The session chair for this day were Prof. Yashvardhan Soni and Dr. Neelam Ruhil for different sessions. At the end of the day a keynote was delivered on “Cloud Security and its applications” by Mr. Sreekanth R.Iyer, Chief Cloud Security Architect IBM ,next to him Francis Alexander, Information Security Researcher , AJCE talked about “NoSQL Exploitation Framework”.

DAY 3: Android, Cyber Crimes

The third day of the national conference focused on “Android based application developments and cyber crimes and cyber forensics”. Cyber - attack is a type of offensive manoeuvre employed by individuals or whole organizations that targets computer information systems, infrastructures, computer networks, and personal computer devices by various means of malicious acts usually originating from an anonymous source that either steals, alters, or destroys a specified target by hacking into a susceptible system. These can be labeled as Cyber campaign or cyber terrorism in different context. Cyber - attacks can range from installing spyware on a PC to attempts to destroy the infrastructure of entire nations and explained that how these cyber - attacks have become increasingly sophisticated and dangerous.

On the third day three presentations were from Dronacharya College of Engineering. The first presentation was by Ms. Reva Nagi, Mrs. Neha Dahiya and Mrs. Neha Malik on the topic “A SIMULATION STUDY ON FOUR WAVE MIXING BY USING OPTSIM SIMULATOR”. Four way mixing is a non linear characteristic of the optical fibre cables and is observed at high optical power. This problem is mitigated by limited increase of dispersion. So a tradeoff between dispersion and four way mixing is done.

The second presentation was by Ms. Kshitija Pol on her research topic which was “A REVIEW PAPER ON PANORAMIC IMAGE”. The last paper presented was “STUDY OF MINIMIZATION OF INTERFERENCE PROBLEM IN WIRELESS SENSOR NETWORK” by Ms. Sarita and Mr. Krishanu Kundu which was a review study on the interference problems of the wireless sensor network which were analysed using genetic algorithms. Prof. Yashvardhan Soni was the session chair for different sessions of the day.

After the presentations, there was a Round - table meeting and discussions were held. The conference was organized to provide high quality research and professional interaction for the advancement of science, technology and fellowship. It provided a forum for Educationists, Researchers, Engineers, Entrepreneurs, and Students to keep abreast of the new advances and research results in Engineering Education. It also opens up unique channels of cooperation between Indian educational and research institutions. Prof. Vishal Bharti , Coordinator from NC ID - 143 shared his views and vote of thanks during the concluding session.
