The practice cum training session begun at 8.30 AM with a brief mention by Mrs. Indu Sharma about the initiatives taken by Ministry of AYUSH, the significance of Astang Yoga and the celebrations. She explained the true meaning of being healthy and the routine of human beings to include correct Aahar, Vihaar and Karya. The session begun with a Vandana (prayer recital) by Mrs. Indu Sharma. This was followed by a warmup session comprising on the spot jogging, foot movements etc. While conducting the warming up session Mrs. Sharma gave out the importance of this mandatory activity before practicing the asanas. Thereafter under her guidance and demonstrations, volunteers practiced various asanas as per the protocols given by the Ministry of AYUSH. This included standing, sitting, prone and spine postures followed by Shavasna. The benefits of practicing each of the asanas and contraindications were mentioned while performing each one of them. Towards the end Anulom Vilom and Bhramri Pranayam was conducted which was so rejuvenating for the senses. |
