PAPER PRESENTATION IN THE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE AT JNU, NEW DELHI

Prof. (Dr.) R.C. Sharma from Applied Sciences & Humanities Department of Dronacharya College of Engineering Gurgaon presented a research paper on the topic “Observational and Analysis Techniques for Studying the Ionosphere-a precursor Zone for Detection of Earthquakesin the International Conference on “Applied Sciences, Environmental Engineering and Energy Technology for Sustainable Development (ASET-2015) held at Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi on February 14th and 15th , 2015.

The objective of this conference was to provide a forum for researchers, scientists, academicians to present their views on Sciences, Environmental issues and Energy to visualize sustainable development in the society.

The conference was inaugurated by Prof. S.N.Nayak, Department of Rural Development, Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. During the technical sessions the speakers explained the theoretical as well as practical aspects of Thermo dynamical Analysis of Hydrogen Production from Glycerol Steam Reforming, Observational and Analysis Techniques for Studying the Ionosphere-a Precursor Zone for Detection of Earthquakes, Seasonal Response of Water Temperature of Lake Rudrasagar, in Relation to some Physico-Chemical Characteristics and Analysis of Aerosol Vertical Extinction Profiles using Satellite Data-a case Study over Dehradun etc.

Prof. R.C. Sharma explained his research paper in detail the role of Ionosphere for detection of earthquakes and observational and analysis techniques for studying the Ionosphere. His paper is published in “ Energy Research and Environmental Management: An Innovative Approach” (ISBN978-81-930585-2-7). He was also invited to chair a technical session of the conference. Under his chairmanship the academicians and other experts presented their views on a number of topics like a comparative Study of Dairy Waste water treatment using Environment Friendly Coagulants, Removal of Phenol from Waste Water using Hydrogen Peroxide, Carbon Footprint: A step towards sustainable garments and Assessment of Water Quality Index of Damodar River near Coal city Dhanbad

The third session was chaired by Dr. Mohmmad Zaid, Mechanical Engineering Department, Zakir Husain College of Engineering & Technology AMU, Aligarh during which the participants learnt different aspects of Design and Development of Solar Parabolic Concentrator with Sensor Based Tracking, and Nano-fluids for Heat Transfer etc.

The conference was highly innovative, application oriented and knowledge based covering the fields of Applied Sciences, Environmental Engineering and Energy Technology.
