91springboard, India's largest coworking hub for startup organized “GEEKFEST 15” on (21st & 22nd) March 2015. One of event HACKATHON 15 which sponsored by IBM India.

Two students Vipin Shukla (16513) and Ankit (16562) from ( IT Department) ) participated in the event from Dronacharya College of Engineering Gurgaon. In HACKATHON15 event students were asked to build web/mobile based application on given theme by using IBM BLUEMIX software.

IBM Bluemix (The digital Innovation platform) is a cloud platform as a service (PaaS) developed by IBM. Bluemix supports several programming language including Java, Node.js, Go, PHP, Ruby Sinatra, Ruby on Rails and can be extended to support other languages such as Scala through the use of buildpacks. Bluemix is based on Cloud Foundry open technology and run on softlayer infrastructure.

The students from DCE, had built a web based application on trash cleaning system, in which they had implemented a GPS powered application which shows where the trash is and how it will be cleaned.

This programme was highly informative as participants were introduced to new software’s by IBM Team and learned about the IBM BLUEMIX software along with its application.
