Tech HR 14: A Conference & Exhibition

People Matters conducted a one-day episode "TechHR 14: A Conference & Exhibition” at The Leela Ambience, Gurgaon on 22nd August 2014 on the theme of "Idea for the future". Mr. Hansraj Yadav, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science & Engineering and Mr. Vinod Kumar, Assistant Professor, Department of Information Technology from Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon attended the event.

Tech HR 2014 was a visual and experiential space to connect, explore and learn from available technologies. All delegates and guests were offered real-time demos and hands-on experience of solutions available.

After registration, the first session began with a talk on "What is your future narrative?" by Mr. Abhay Adhikari. He focussed on the voice, context and values that define our Digital Identities. He conducted a Digital Identity seminar series across 9 countries. Mr. Abhay works with a range of private and public sector organisations on culture change, communication and advocacy projects. During the session, the workshop explored the need for establishing a context while capturing, broadcasting and accessing data.


The Second session commenced with a lecture on “Emerging Trends in HR Technology landscape & the Future of Work." Mr. Twangout Alan and Mr. Holger discussed about the Global emerging trends in the area of HR Technology and how future work in this field is going to shape up and understand how to develop, purchase and implement collaboration solutions IaaS, PaaS with forays up the tech stack into Big Data and Analytics.

Mr. Vinay Kumar discussed on "Using Social Media for Employee Engagement. What HR Shouldn’t do?" This session focussed on how organizations can leverage Social media beyond just recruitment and learning and leverage it for organization's productivity.

The last session was by Mr. Kavi Arasu, Chief Manager for Learning & Development at Asian Paints was on "Story Telling in the Digital World". He discussed about how "Stories do not change, what change is the medium,” How the digital medium does change the art of story-telling?" His role involves co-evolving the organisation-wide people development agenda with leadership teams in line with organisational strategy and long term plans.

Overall, the event was very enlightening and motivating.
