The English Literary Association of Delhi College of Arts and Commerce in association with “STORYMIRROR” organized an event Aflutter- 2015 on 14th October 2015.Akshit Jaggi (15453) and Aditya Chhillar (15449) from Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon participated in the essay writing competition. The events included Group discussion, debates, essay writing, elocution, illustration and short story writing. The competitors were judged by THREE eminent professors of Delhi University.
The program started with an interactive session on ‘Writing as a means of expression and techniques to write better’. The key speakers on the topic were:
The competition had 3 rounds and the organizers, before commencement of the rounds explained the rules and regulations thoroughly to the participants.
The first round topic of the essay given to the participants was on "Pocket Money: Should Parents develop this habit at the tender age?". In the 2nd round, the topic of the essay was “Is the youth of India swayed by the use of social media in politics”. The participants got 30 minutes to prepare and 15 minutes to write on the topic. Akshit Jaggi and Aditya Chhillar qualified and reached upto the third round of the event. The winners were awarded with cash prize worth Rs. 19000.
Our Students by participating in the contest got an opportunity to test their writing skills and got a scope to improve their grammar, spelling, content and structure. The positive and constructive feedback motivated the participants to further improve themselves.
