Nanotechnology for Environment Preservation (IJWBME 2013)

Prof. (Dr.) B.M.K Prasad, Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon attended India-Japan Workshop onBiomolecular Electronics & Organic Nanotechnology for Environment Preservation (IJWBME-2013) on 13th-15th December, 2013 at Delhi Technological University (DTU), Delhi. The workshop, aimed at bridging the gap between electronics and bio-systems, provided a platform to researchers all across the world particularly India, Japan, USA and Ireland to discuss various issues related to research, development and manufacture of simpler, faster and miniaturized devices that can be readily used for environment preservation.

The workshop was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Prof. (Dr.) S.K Joshi, Ex-Director General, CSIR, Govt. of India, New Delhi followed by a welcome address by Prof. (Dr.) P. B Sharma, Vice Chancellor, DTU. He emphasized on practical applications of Biomolecular Electronics & Organic Compounds, Metroscopic Nanotechnology and Electrical Conductivity with Smart Materials and Nano-materials.

Mr. M.P Aggarwal, Former Secretary in Human Resource Development, Govt. of India & Chairman of Board of Mgmt., DTU and Prof. (Dr.) S Majhi, Dean, IRD & HOD of Boitechnology, DTU highlighted some basic ideas related to Biosensors and its applications.

Prof. (Dr.) Shuji Hayase, Dean, Kyushu Institute of Technology, Japan and co-chair in IJWBME, 2013, in his key note address accentuated over Solar Cells and Dye Sensitized Solar Cells. He also highlighted the applications of Silicon Solar Cells, Sensitized Solar Cells, Printed Semi-conductorsin various areas.

Prof. (Dr.) B.D Malhotra, Professor, DTUand Former Chief Scientist, NPL, Delhi, highlightedthe research work on Hybrid in Solar Cells, Printable Solar Cells and Organic Solar Cells. He also laid emphasis towards the social development through research work in the field of Bio-Sensors and Bio-Sensored Electronics, Glucose-Sensor with Solar Cells (theoretical & photophysical).

IJWBME-2013 was a great experience todiscuss about further development in the field of Biomolecular Electronics & Organic Nanotechnology.
