IEEE AWARD CEREMONY 2016

IEEE Delhi section had organized Award Ceremony 2016 to felicitate its various dedicated volunteers at Maharaja Surajmal Institute of Technology (MSIT), New Delhi on 23rd April 2016. Dr. K.K. Singh (IEEE Branch Counsellor, DCE), Ms. Charu Jain (Assistant Professor, EEE) along with three students Ms. Swati (VIII Sem), Ms. Jyoti (VI Sem), Ms. Arushi (VI Sem), from Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon attended the award ceremony.

The ceremony started with the welcome of the distinguished guests with bouquet. The program was glorified by the presence of Chief Guest Dr. Mini.S.Thomas (Chairperson, IEEE Delhi Section) Students were highly inspired by the words of wisdom from member of sections of IEEE Delhi Chair Dr. Rachna Garg (SAC, IEEE Delhi section head). She explained that the IEEE and its members inspire a global community to innovate for a better tomorrow through its highly cited publications, conferences, technology standards, and professional and educational activities. She told IEEE is hosting various programs, workshops, activities across Delhi section to help students to participate to enhance their skills and knowledge.

This was followed by prize distribution. The prizes were distributed and they were categorized in different categories like JK Pal award, outstanding volunteer award, and outstanding WIE award. Dr. K.K. Singh (IEEE Branch Counsellor, DCE), receives OUTSTANDING BRANCH COUNSELLOR AWARD for his contribution in IEEE. Students of DCE Gurgaon also received the following awards in IEEE Delhi section Award ceremony 2016.

1. Dr. J.K.Pal Memorial Best Student Volunteer Award – Ms. Swati Sharma

2. Outstanding WIE Volunteer award – Ms. Arushi Sharma

3. Outstanding Student Volunteer Award – Ms. Jyoti Rana

The newsletter was also released by the various chairpersons of IEEE. In the end, Dr. Mini S Thomas gathered the opinion for more activities that can be held for motivating and inspiring students. She also delivered vote of thanks and concluded the award ceremony.
