DRONTECH 2015

 

 

Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon organized a two days technical festival DRONTECH-2K15 from 26th to 27th March 2015. This fest is organized with the objective to provide platform for the students to highlight their talent with a competitive spirit.

The inauguration ceremony was conducted in the presence of eminent academics and representatives of Industry. The Chief Guest of the event was Dr. Atma Ram Shukla, Adviser Bio-Energy (Retd.), Ministry of Renewable Energy, Govt. of India. Other Eminent personalities, such as, Dr. Ved Varun Agrawal, Scientist, National Physical Laboratory, Sh. Vipin Kumar from Escorts Limited, Mr. Dinesh Chandra Sharma from Madhusudan Auto Limited, Dr. S. N. Joshi, Scientist, Council of Scientific and Industrial Research Institute, Pilani and Mr. Stuart Gitsham, Wealth Management Consultant from Devere Group India Investment Advisors Pvt. Ltd were also present in the inauguration ceremony as the Guest of Honor.

During the inauguration ceremony, Dr. Atma Ram Shukla motivated the students and explained the various ways through which the success can be achieved. He also talked about the importance of competitions. The other guests also shared their valuable thoughts with students. In addition to opening ceremony on Day1.

The descriptions of various events on Day 1 of Drontech 2015 are as follows:

Paper Presentation: To highlight the research work by students, Paper Presentation competition was organized in which more than 70 students presented their research work.

App O Mania To display some innovation and its implementation App O Mania was organized. The event was organized in collaboration with Aakash Project of IIT Bombay.

RoboSport: In this event students have to design their own robots and make them functional.

Mat Pro: MatPro was organized and aimed at testing the knowledge of technical, programming skills, logical understanding

Auto Cad: AutoCAD”, was specially designed for mechanical students in which computer-aided drafting software program was used for creating blueprints for buildings, bridges and computer chips.

Photo Fuzz: With the idea to encourage, students with good photography skills, Photo Fuzz .

Junk Yard: The idea behind organizing the Junk yard Competition was to utilize your scrap material in making something useable.

Poster Competition: Students posters displayed their innovation ideas.

Rangoli: A traditional Indian decoration art was organized in college campus using materials such as colored rice, dry flour, colored sand or flower petals. The theme for the Rangoli was “Make in India”.

The descriptions of various events on Day 2 of Drontech 2015 are as follows:

Project Competition: Students participated with the idea to present their research in an implemented manner.

Digital Designing: This competition gives participants the opportunity to design a Logo.

Code Debugging: An event especially designed for CS/IT students in which participant team had to work upon the coding in C or C++ Programming language.

Technical Quiz: Technical quiz was also organized in which students of various streams.

Website Designing: Students especially from CS/IT branch participated with great enthusiasm. Over 40 + teams participated and showed their website designing skills.

Debate Competition: To showcase communication skills, debate competition was also organized. Nearly 25 + entries were recorded for this competition.

Tech Roadies: In this competition, participating team were given some tasks to perform in a group. The team, which performs the activity in a short time, was declared as a winner.

During the Valedictory Ceremony, Chief-Guest of the event Dr. S. K. Varshney, Scientist & Director at International Bilateral Cooperation, Govt. of India, expressed his views about DronTech 2015. He said that the students, as a future of country, should have high competitive spirits. Ms. Naho Shigeta, Managing Director, Infobridge Holdings Group Limited, Gurgaon also graced the occasions as the Guest of Honor.

The event concluded with the prize distribution ceremony to the meritorious students who secured positions in the events of DronTech 2K15. Hon’ble Principal Prof. (Dr.) B.M.K. Prasad, along with Dr. S. K. Varshney gave prizes and certificates to all the winners of different events held during DronTech 2K15.

In the end, Prof. Yashvardhan Soni, Convener Drontech-2015, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the panelists, staff and students for their contribution. He also thanked the sponsor of DronTech 2K15 included Sofcon, CSI, IEEE, ISTE, Sharey Infotech, IETE, Gate Academy and NSDC.64
