15th February 2016
Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon organized an Industrial Visit on 15th February 2016 to C# Corner located at Sector - 63, Noida for the 2nd and 3rd year students of CSE, IT, CSIT, ECE & ECS. Ms. Sarita from Department of Computer Science & Engineering and Ms. Saroj, Department of Information Technology along with 57 students went for the visit. |
C# Corner, associated with MCN solutions as their career partner, is an online community for developers and IT professionals. |
The main objective of the visit was to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical exposure providing the student an insight into the real working environment of the industry. |
The Introduction Session started with a presentation by Mr. Nitin Pandit, Sr. Software Developer. He motivated the students to choose at least one stream in which he / she should become a master. He advised the students to make themselves updated by reading latest technological news. He gave important knowledge about the object - oriented programming languages like C++, Java and C#. He interacted with the students on some further technical aspects like Cloud Computing, Web site uploading, SharePoint, Azure technologies and much more during the first session. He also explained about the Microsoft event named as “Accelerate India”, in which Microsoft is contributing to make Surat city, the first cloud city of India. He also explained about the Microsoft Azure portal and its applications. The students were taken to the real workplace to give them real time experience of various operations and processes of the company. They were introduced to different departments i.e. the development team, network administrators and content team etc. Each department gave a detailed insight of their workings. Software lifecycle process and paradigms of software engineering were discussed by highly renowned software developers. |
He introduced students to the new technologies which will cover the IT market in coming years, like IOT, Microsoft, and Big Data Analysis. The Internet of Things (IoT) is the network of physical objects - devices, vehicles, buildings and other items which are embedded with electronics, software, sensors, and network connectivity, which enables these objects to collect and exchange data. Hadoop is the core platform for structuring Big Data, and solves the problem of formatting it for subsequent analytics purposes. Hadoop uses a distributed computing architecture consisting of multiple servers using commodity hardware, making it relatively inexpensive to scale and support extremely large data stores. |
Mr. Nitin Pandit also inspired Student to focus on the practical application of their knowledge and practically showed how to host website using Microsoft Azure portal. Any developer or IT professional can be productive with Azure. The integrated tools, pre - built templates and managed services make it easier to build and manage enterprise, mobile, Web and Internet of Things (IoT) apps faster, using skills you already have and technologies you already know. Microsoft is also the only vendor positioned as a Leader across Gartner’s Magic Quadrants for Cloud Infrastructure as a Service, Application Platform as a Service and Cloud Storage Services for the second consecutive year. |
He advised students to join the website of C# corner as a member, to get updated with the latest technology. The website contain blogs, posts, video lectures, notes, books and many more stuff which can help the students to get practically and theoretical sound. |
At last he introduced an application name as “RomeLife”, which is helpful for all the budding Engineers and has a special feature for Girl’s security. All the students participated in the event with great enthusiasm and asked their doubts and concerns to the respective speakers. The whole visit was very fruitful as it gave an opportunity to the students to learn various fundamental concepts of C# Corner. |
The industrial visit provided the students with an in depth idea about the concept of C++, Java and C#. It also gave the students an exposure about the recent developments taking place in the industry. |
