Counselling For Placements (CFP) Session

21st August 2015

 

Department of Computer Science & Engineering of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon organized a Counselling Session by the team of “Quantum of Excellence” on 21st August 2015. Third and Fourth year students of Computer Science & Engineering, Information Technology and Electronics and Computer Engineering department attended the session.

The aim of the session was to boost up the students and help them in areas of personal, social and vocational problems so that they can perform well in the placement process.

In the session Mr. Aman Taneja, Founder and Mr. Gurpreet Singh, Co-Founder of Quantum of Excellence explained the students about recruitment processes followed by various companies. These processes include Aptitude tests, Group Discussion and both the personal and technical interviews.

Mr. Taneja made students do a faint level-assessment which provided them with a feedback based on their current level as to what should be the level of preparation for the companies they are aiming at. He provided various references of the course material to study and most importantly, laid the foundation for the approach to be followed while solving questions in the interviews as well as in the written exam.

Mr. Singh emphasized on developing the thought process to crack questions on algorithms and puzzles. He explained various approaches that are related to competitive exams such as solving C, C++ and Java based problem sets. He also explained about solving Design Patterns and finding multiple alternatives for solving it which helps in developing the thought process. Mr. Singh emphasised more on mathematical justification and logic behind every step in the puzzle which has a major contribution in the total score given to the question.

As per the speakers the core subject areas of focus are -

TECHNICAL – C, C++, Data Structures, Algorithms,

NON-TECHNICAL – Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Reasoning and Data interpretation.

SOFT SKILLS – GD Prep, Personal Interview Preparation and Resume Building

The session was very informative as the students got the overall view to clear the recruitment process and steps that need to be taken care of to get placed in reputed companies.
