5G-Networks

Mr. Sooraj Kumar Goyal, Assistant Professor, Electronics & Computer Engineering Department of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon attended a one-day Seminar on “A Vision of 5G Networks – Technologies beyond 2020”at Nex-G Skills, Noida on 30th November 2013. The intent of the seminar was to bring together forward looking professionals from industry, academia, and consortia to discuss the 5th Generation (5G) network - the need for 5G, what will it look like, how mobile network operators will have transition to a 5G network, and what opportunities will exist once a fully 5G mobile network is available.

Inaugurating the seminar, Mr. Vikrant Bisht, Manager, Nex-G Skills highlightedthe importance of 5G Technology. He also addressed the challenges to deploying a 5G network, including how to achieve higher spectral efficiency to deliver data intensive services at a low cost per gigabit.

Mr. Sudhanshu Kamboj, Manager, Nex-G Skills, Noida enlightened the participants about the Barriers to 5G : Policies & Physics; Spectrum Allocation, Federal Mandates, Advanced Wireless Technologies for 5G,Mobile Gaming,Mobile Cloud Computing,Millimeter Waves, Cognitive Radio, Multiple-Input and Multiple-Output, Software Defined Networking,Network Function Virtualization and Multi- Technology Carrier-Aggregation, etc.

It was a good learning experience for participants to have an understanding of 5G as a concept, the economic and technical need for 5G, and the technology being developed to deploy 5G.
