On 1st February, 2014 an industrial trip to “Literacy India- The Handmade Paper Unit” was organized by the faculty coordinators Dr. Vimla Yadav, Mr. Nitesh Kumar, Mr. Dharmveer and Ms. Sangeeta Singla from Applied Sciences and Humanities Department of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon. A total of 43 student-members of Paryavaran Club of the college visited the site of the handmade paper unit and their school at Bajghera Village, New Palam Vihar Gurgaon.

The objective of this trip was to to inspire the youth to take up issues concerning their communities.

Mr. Sobit Kumar Head of sponsorship unit and other personnel summarized various steps to convert used paper into new handmade paper sheet and showed all steps one by one. The students also availed the opportunity to visit the handicraft centre Indha where many products like fashion accessories, block printed products, hand -made paper products, batik material, paintings, bags and purses, Vermi- composts etc.

The trip to Literacy India was educative as the students practically observed the process and mechanism of paper recycling.
