ONE - DAY WORKSHOP ON COMSOL MULTI - PHYSICS

On 26th May 2016, eight faculty members: Dr. Ram Chhavi Sharma, Dr. Y.S.Yadav, Dr. Vaishali Dixit, Mrs. Nidhi Mishra, Mr. Deepak Kumar and Mr. Vineet Mishra from Applied Sciences & Humanities Department and Ms.Parul Bansal and Mrs. Diksha Chaudhary from ECS Department of Dronacharya College of Engineering Gurgaon, participated in a one - day workshop on Multi - physics which was organized by COMSOL in Eblem Hotel, Gurgaon.

The objective of this workshop was to share valuable theoretical concepts and applications of COMSOL Multi - physics and COMSOL Server products in design environment, integrated modeling and simulation.

Dr. Samarth Agrawal, an alumnus of Purdue University, USA talked about three components of COMSOL Multi - physics i.e. Multi - physics, Application Builder and Applications. During his lecture, he elucidated how COMSOL Multi - physics, software environment facilitates all the steps (defining geometry, meshing, specifying physics, solving and visualizing results) in modeling process. He also explained how Application Builder Software follows line of thinking from concept to realization and provides all the tools needed to build and run simulation applications.

Further, he shared that a COMSOL application is a modal with a customized user interface created with the application builder. Simulation apps can be run with a COMSOL Multi - physics or COMSOL server license. He illustrated the steps with an example in the workshop.

Overall, the workshop was innovative and application oriented for the participants.
