ROBO-TRYST 2015

A two day workshop was organised by the Mechanical Engineering Department of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon on “Automobile Engine Mechanics” from 29th to 30th September 2014. This being the zonal round of International Automobile Championship “Robo Tryst 2015” to be held at IIT Delhi in association with Robosapiens Technologies Pvt. Ltd. in March 2015.

Seventy-four students participated in this workshop from Mechanical Engineering Department. Mr. Lokesh Kumar of Robosapiens Technologies Pvt. Ltd. (R & D Department) discussed important aspects of the Automobile Industry with a special significance to the subject. The main topics highlighted in the workshop were:

1. Brief history of the Automobile Industry

2. Chassis types and design

3. Suspension and types.

4. Braking Unit

5. Design Softwares- AutoCAD and CATIA V6

6. Transmission system

7. IC Engines and latest Technologies

8. Steering System

In the workshop students were updated about the technological innovation scaling new heights and advancements in the field of Mechanical Engineering. Live demonstration was held using Honda 110 CC engine. The assembling and dismantling process of this engine including its gearbox and carburettor was explained to students practically.

On the second day along with discussing the rest of the topics an Automobile Engine Design Zonal Level Competition was held, where the Winner and the First & Second runner-up were declared. The winners of zonal round were awarded certificate of merit and shall represent the college by participating in the final rounds to be held at IIT Delhi.

Mr.Rishabh Verma, Mr. Gautam Yadav and Mr. Varun Kumar, students from the Mechanical Engineering Department coordinated the programme under the guidance of Faculty.
