A National Seminar on “Digital Information Economy: Trends in Technology, Workplace & Workforce for Growth and Sustainable Development” was organized by IEEE at MOTA Hall of PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, New Delhi on 21st-September-2013. The event was co-sponseredby IEEE TMC, IEEE CS, IEEE Eductaion Society Chapters and Network Affinity Group of Delhi Section. Prof. (Mrs.) A. N. Mahajan from Electronics & Communication Engineering Department, Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon attended this seminar.

Prof. K. Subramanian, Ex-Director & Professor, Advanced Center for Informatics & Innovative Learning, Ex-DDG (NIC); and Mr. Daman Dev Sood, SMIEEE, IEEE Ambassador were the key speakers of the event. The first session was held by Prof. Subramanian. He covered the expectations of ideal graduate professional, their attributes and changing impact of technology on sustainable development. He stated that the common needs in emerging technologies are Business, citizens, community organization, media and the employees. He emphasized that the main attributes of creating and pursuing new global trends with technology evolution are Digital Coconing, Web Identity, TPS (triple pay service), Grid Computing and Ubiquitous technology.

In the second session, Mr. Sood delivered a lecture on “Protect your assets using ISO 22301” based on BCM (Business Continuity Management). He said that business Continuity is the activity performed by an organization to ensure that critical business functions are available to customers, suppliers, regulators, and other entities that must have access to those functions. The seminar was beneficial to the attendees as they came to know more about Business Continuity Management System and availed the opportunity to interact with the distinguished speakers.
