PLC & SCADA

On 11th August 2013 Vijay Kumar Arora (Roll No. 14630) from the Department of Electronics & Computer Engineering of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon attended a seminar on “Automation Using PLC & SCADA” organised by Sofcon India Pvt. Ltd. , Gurgaon.

Mr. Siddharth a trainer from Sofcon India Pvt. Ltd. Gurgaon imparted the technical attributes and different applications of Automation technology. In his lecture, he shared how to Implement Automation through PLC and SCADA, background of Programmable Logic Controller and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition along with the introduction of Ladder Logic.

He enlightened the attendees about proximity sensors and briefed about the history of logic control which has followed the below mentioned path:

Human Control -> Pneumatic Control -> Hardwired Control -> Electronic Control Using Gates -> Programmable Logic Controller (PLC).

The seminar was informative and relevant to the attendees.
