OTN ORACLE

On 30th August 2013, Mr. Dharmendra Pal, and Mr. Yashvardhan Soni the faculty Members from the department of Information Technology represented Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon in a workshop on “OTN Oracle Application Development”, at Hotel Eros, New Delhi. It was organized by Oracle Corporation, India with the objective to understand Oracle Application Development Framework (ADF) & Fusion Middleware Development (FMD).

Mr. Gaurav Singh, Oracle Identity Manager, Oracle Corporation, India inaugurated the workshop and discussed the architecture of oracle Application development platform (ADF). He stated, “Oracle ADF is an end-to-end Java EE framework that simplifies application development by providing out-of-the-box infrastructure services and a visual and declarative development experience.” He also dealt with Oracle Fusion Middleware Development Platform, Developing reusable business services, capabilities of Oracle WebCentres etc. Another expert Mr. Sukkrit, Oracle Corporation, India talked about developing mobile applications for iOS and Android Platforms and discussed various Oracle ADF Mobile features and applications.

During the lab-session they made the participants aware how to create an Oracle Application Development Framework (Oracle ADF) Mobile application that runs on-device as a hybrid application, using an HTML5-based user interface. In this session they covered accessing the data from SOAP or REST-based Web services and integrate with device services such as calendar, contacts, and camera through data controls. Moreover, they created an application that could be deployed on multiple platforms.

Overall, the workshop was a great learning opportunity to understand the concept of Oracle Application Development Framework (ADF) & Fusion Middleware Development software.
