INAUGURATION CEREMONY

Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon has the launched of a Microsoft Innovation Center (MIC) in the college campus 26th August 2014. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed with Microsoft in the presence of the Chief-guest Mr. Venkatesh Sarvasidhhi, Country Head- Microsoft Academic Programme to formalise the partnership between Microsoft and Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon. During the inauguration the Chairman, Dronacharya College of Engineering Hon’ble Dr. Satish Yadav, Director Prof. (Dr.) B.M.K. Prasad, Principal Prof. (Dr.) M.N. Hussain, Registrar, all HoDs and faculty members were present.

Welcoming the Chief-Guest Mr. Venkatesh Sarvasidhhi, Country Head- Microsoft Academic Programme, the Principal Prof. (Dr.) M.N. Hussain expressed that Microsoft Innovation Centres (MICs) are a worldwide concept. There are several MICs that have been set up across the world. He further reiterated that these centres provide state-of-the-art technology facilities for collaboration on innovative research, technology or software solutions, involving a combination with government, academic and industry participants.

Inaugurating the centre at DCE, Gurgaon the Chief-Guest Mr. Venkatesh Sarvasidhhi, said that MICs help the students and entrepreneurs at all stages, from idea development to launch of a new company. Through various programs, entrepreneurs get access to skills training, mentors and Microsoft tools, enabling them to take their business to the next level. He further explained that through such centres Microsoft provides software and other facilities that help students create better output along with a platform to showcase the idea. He also announced that Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon is the first College in Haryana where Microsoft Innovation Centre (MIC) has been launched.

The inauguration ceremony ended with a vote of thanks by the convenor Prof. (Dr.) Jitender Kumar who assured that at DCE, Gurgaon the students will be promoted in the areas of Projects, Research, entrepreneurship and other techno-socio activities through MIC.
