MANTHAN

An Online nation-wide movement – MANTHAN was initiated by CAG (Citizens for Accountable Governance) to engage the youth of India in a movement to strengthen accountable governance in India. The movement aimed to churn out the most innovative solutions for inclusion in the political agenda for 2014 elections. The movement comprised of National competition in which students from colleges across the nation came up with innovative solutions to fourteen critical challenges faced by India.

Eighty teams from Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon participated in Manthan, out of which thirty were selected among top 1400 teams in India. Team Ssquare RVsquare of Saurabh Kumar, Saurabh Jakhmola, Rochan Mehrotra, Vivek Gusain and Vishal Kaushik from Information Technology Department was selected among top 15 teams all over India and won a cash prize of Rs. 5000.

The entire movement came to a conclusion at the Grand Culmination Convention held on 2nd Oct 2013 at the Thyaagraj Sports Complex, New Delhi. Jyoti Hazrati (Roll No. 14434) from Information Technology Department being the Campus Ambassador for Manthan represented Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon in the Grand Culmination Convention.

This mega event was hosted by an eminent anchor, model and actress, Ms. Mandira Bedi.

Sh. Narendra Modi, Hon'ble CM of Gujarat; Sh. Arun Jaitley, Leader of Opposition, Rajya Sabha; Sh. N. Chandrababu Naidu, Former CM of Andhra Pradesh and Sh. Ram Jethmalani, eminent lawyer and former CM were among the dignitaries who appreciated the effort of CAG and encouraged the youth of India to participate in such type of political events of national relevance.
