LED and SMaLED

Saniya Puri, Mohit Sharma, Manish Saini, Kulshrestha, Prateek, Vibhore, Divyansh and Vibhav from Electronics and Communication Engineering Department of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon attended a two-day Conference on LED and SMaLED jointly organized by Trafalgar Publications Group Pvt. Ltd. and MMI India, New Delhi on 4th & 5th September 2013. Prof. (Mrs.) A.N. Mahajan, a faculty of ECE Department, DCE also accompanied the students.

The objective of the conference was to share innovative areas in LED application engineering. Mr. Bhupinder Singh, Deputy CEO, MMI India and Dr. M. V. Ramana Rao, President, LEDMA welcomed the guest speakers and attendees. It was followed by the key note address by Dr. Ajay Kumar ,IAS, Joint Secretary, Department of Electronics & Information Technology.

The distinguished panelists Mr. Tang, CEO, Optoelectronic Co., China; Mr. Norman Lao,VP International, Shenzhen LeyardOpto-Electronic Co., China; Mr. K Vijay Kumar Gupta, MD, Kwality Photonics; Mr. Saurav Kumar, CEO, Energy Efficiency Services Ltd; Dr. Niloufer Shroff, Sct. 'G' & HOD, EMCD, DeitY shared their views on  Low pitch LED Displays, LED Technology, Govt. initiatives for Energy Efficiency Services, LED Packaging Equipment , Solid State Lighting - Research Perspective.

On the second day of the Conference, Mr. Chris Palin, European Sales Manager – Humiseal Inc; Mr.Ramesh Agrahar, VP Technical – Kaynes Technology India Pvt. Ltd. and Mr. S. Gnyana Sundar, Ex-Program Director Offsets and Avionics, The Tata Power Company Limited, Strategic Electronics Division, Bangalore shared their views on  Yield improvem ent utilising AOI and X-Ray,Accurate in-Line 3D measurement for process control, Reliability requirements for supply to defense avionics, Solder paste jetting, an alternative or add on toll for paste deposition, Improving Electronic Circuit Reliability in Harsh Environments etc.

The participants also witnessed exhibition of many technical companies like Advance Tech Services Pvt Ltd. India, AEIS Singapore, Antrix Associates India, Apex Power Tools India Pvt Ltd. India, NMtronics etc. The highlights of the exhibition was various types of electronic components, different educational kits, 3D printing machines and surface mounting machines etc.

The conference was beneficial for the participants to avail the opportunity on business-critical manufacturing issues through industry discussion, technical collaboration and information sharing with international experts.
